Creating

Videos

I love creating and editing videos. I will make a video any chance I get, whether it be for a school project or to organize memories from a trip. The video below is entitled “Safety Lab” and earned my friend and I enough extra credit to secure A+’s in AP Chemistry.

Virtual Band

This past semester, I worked with the trumpet section to create a virtual section feature. One of my friends arranged a version of the Illinois state song and the Marching Illini trumpets made recordings of each of the parts. I edited together over 30 clips to create this video.

Personal Videos

This is a video from my last trip to Kenya in 2017. I mixed the audio in Logic Pro and edited the video in Final Cut Pro. Most of the video was shot on a GoPro (which was in a plastic bag because I accidentally broke the lens).

Meme Videos

Though they are typically a low quality-style, meme videos are a lot of fun and challenging to create. This video may not be very funny to people outside of the intended audience, but I’m pretty proud of the technical aspect of it. It was created in honor of our new assistant director of bands in the Marching Illini.

Art

Displayed below are a few of the paintings I have created in the past few years.

Minecraft

Over the quarantine, I spent a lot of time in Minecraft. I hadn't played Minecraft growing up, but it was fun learning the game and creating with my friends.

Oskee Wow Wow

Our first project was for an athletic bands assignment. Two of my friends and I used Minecraft blocks to make a version of our school fight song. It involved in-game coding with red stones and tuning each block to the correct pitch. Here is a video of the finished product.

Memorial Stadium

Our big project over quarantine was building Memorial Stadium. We started in March and didn’t finish until August. With a virtual season of marching band, we wanted to provide the section with a fun alternative to doing what we do in person. After a virtual game night, we invited the trumpet section to come to our server and we led them in marching a block I down the field. This project involved much more math and designing than I expected, but it turned out pretty great!
